Dozens of physicians and patients left their clinics and laboratories behind last month to visit organic matcha tea fields. According to the trip’s host, 16th generation tea master Kazunori Handa, the purpose was to remind the participants that nature contains powerful alternatives to modern drugs and chemicals.
“Sometimes we forget ancient miracles in the rush for new ones,” Handa said in a statement.
Nearly 80 Japanese physicians and patients traveled to Kagoshima, Japanto tour organic tea fields and attend a seminar on the health benefits of matcha.
“They needed to experience the tea fields, to actually feel and smell matcha tea leaves, to understand their cultivation,” Handa said. “It’s a process that produces potent results.”
Various research has explored tea’s health benefits, often attributed to the drink’s high level of the antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate). Handa said he is determined to raise awareness of matcha, both in Japan and North America. His blend of organic matcha, is sold through DōMatcha in U.S. and Canadian health stores.

    Gràcies de nou!!
